TUKA
In 2014, after Super Typhoon Haiyan hit the Philippines, Gener developed a design for a Filipino bamboo house that could better withstand the extreme storms accompanying climate change.
The design is characterized by its robust structure of curved interlaced bamboo and overhanging roof which also forms the walls. It has been used extensively by Tao Philippines for guest accommodation, and at a larger scales for schools and community centers. Tuka is a Filipino word for a bird's beak.
